Re: 7/6 in Lausanne
Sanchez - 47.86 - finally!
hmmm - Arron in 11.01, curiouser and curiouser in the women's 100
this is what the Eurosport wonk wrote:
"Women's 100m - French beauty Christine Arron needs a few strides to get over her trademark mediocre start but once she gets going, she is virtually unbeatable!!! ARRON WINS IN 11.01!!! In an era of muscle masses, it's so nice to see a female sprinter like Arron, who could easily steal her countrywoman Marie Jose Perec's nickname 'the Gazelle'. Not the best of starters, Arron is the best relay anchor leg in the world, because she gets a running start!"
I'm guessing this sort of thing wouldn't fly here, or would it?
Aha - Sles beats Cloete in the HJ - exactly on cue. And the height is 2.04, which, pursuant to our earlier discussions, I'm not even going to try to convert, but scroll on up there to the top and see what I predicted - I'm betting it's close.

Re: 7/6 in Lausanne
well here's a surprise
1 Jawher Mushir Salim BRN 13:02.47
2 Wendimu Mulugeta ETH 13:02.78
3 Abate Abiyote ETH 13:03.33
4 Limo Richard KEN 13:05.12
5 Hassan Abdullah Ahmad QAT 13:05.55
I hate to admit it, but I've never heard of the winner. Brunei is quite the comer - is he really Bruneian?

Re: 7/6 in Lausanne
The women's 110H look to be one of the most competitive event going. We could see a blanket finish with 4 or 5 hurdlers around 12.5 or faster in Athens.

Re: 7/6 in Lausanne
Thanks for asking!
I’ll go with
Men
100 - Powell over Zakari – 10.08
200 – Buckland 20.20
400 – Time for Francique to wake up again – 44.80
800 – Sepeng (Bucher back?) – 1:44.0
1500 – Wanna go with El G, but Heshco is due – 3:32 (Stember there so close to OT?)
St & 5K – I’m going with a northernish-easternish African – time: fast!
110H – AJ (my man) 13.10
400H – Sanchez rises as from a slumber – 47.80!
PV – Markov on a hunch – Hysong is in there – 19’2.314956"
LJ – I like Lamela, but the Commie, I mean Russki Shkurlatov will win – 27’3
JT – Makarov – 284'
Women
100 – Nestor! 11.10
400 – Pick-a-Russian, Kotly in 50.10
800 – daring, but I’ll risk a quid on Mutola
1500 – Yeg – Yuck 4:00
100H – Alozie – 12.55
HJ – The new Big Event – Sles over Cloete! 6’8
TJ – Lebed 50 again – but Aldama and Mbango coming on.

Lots of biggies competing, such as El G and many others. Any predictions ?Tags: None
