    Well, this year Gatlin competed less than the last couple years and especially competed less in big races -- and he finally got the Gold. So, I am not sure that this buttresses your case all that strongly (of course, the competition might not have been on the same level, but given the wind and the temperatures, that 9.92 seconds of grit were actually pretty fast).

    • It does seem that there is a sharpness missing (but her relay leg suggests she's still got it). I've been thinking for a while that a few more races would be more beneficial than not. I get not overdoing it, but you need to race especially since it seems she still can learn more on running the open 400.
