    Just out of interest I contacted ten T&F fan friends of mine from Europe - five Brits, two Dutch, two French and a German. None was aware that the 16' barrier had been broken in the women's PV. The Brits were able to guess how high 4.88m was by assuming 1m=3ft. The others had no clue at all. None was able to tell me the imperial measure of a single field WR, except two of the Brits who knew that Beamon had jumped over 29' and so the LJ WR must be a bit over that.

      ...which would put Feofanova at 14.64 ft :-p
