I think her qualifying 7.16 was even more impressive, she virtually jogged the last 20m!

PUH-LEEZ don't get that rubbish started again. We finally got rid of the primary Troll in that regard.

Pinto's first few steps out of the blocks are awful, she barely uses her arms at all and kind of shuffles out.

She's run great heats and finals this season so can back up the rounds and did it in international competition.

She's not travelled well running her best in Germany but I hope Birmingham only being a few hours away sees her get into the WIC and maybe challenge for a medal.

Pinto will be in Paris on Wednesday against Ta Lou and Asher-Smith, we'll see if she can confirm her great form outside of Germany.

I hope she's competitive as I'd love to see that potential realised!

German championships highlights day 2, even fewer than on day 1 but one was huge:

Konstanze Klosterhalfen broke the 30 year old German record with 8:36.01.

                      mTJ: Max Heß 16.84m

                      mHJ: Mateusz Przybylko 2.30m

                      mPV: Raphael Holzdeppe 5.68m

w200: Tatjana Pinto 23.19s on a very tight lane 3. Would have been sub23 if they had given her the outer lane.

Klosterhalfen continues to impress -- what a great run. ~18 second PB (indoor). And on her birthday. I assume she will run WIC, and I hope she does well.

Krause and Granz ran well (far) behind her. Krause has run faster at this distance indoors, but 8:54 is good for her, and Granz at 8:56 is a PB (in or out), a week after a 1500 indoor PB.

I believe sprint finalists should get to choose their lanes. Fastest going into final chooses first, then second fastest and so on.

The rule in indoor 200 and 400 is that the top 2 qualifiers get the outer lanes (5 or 6, assuming it's a 6-lane track). Pinto must not have run that great in the heats.

we've discussed that concept before, and it's a bit of a 2-edged sword. If you choose first, you then offer up the certitude that the No. 2 seed can gain some advantage by choosing the lane inside you.
