That was the Pre Classic poster from 2000. Yes, that photograph was taken in Berkeley where Pre set an American record in the 5,000.

Yeah there is no way they are going to bring all of the international male vaulters over there if it is not a Diamond League event. In theory, they could probably put together a nice domestic field + Mondo and Shawn Barber for minimal expense.

Of course I would LOVE that, but I am not holding my breath

ps— putting Monaco and London on consecutive days has little effect on the DL since there are zero events that overlap between the two. (those running both the 100 and 200 would disagree, of course)

Even though the DL site has several references to London being 20/21, I believe 27-28 is the correct dating. Indeed, if you go to the Monaco and London DL sites, you'll see the countdown calendar lists them as 6 days apart.

[edited to note that the London ticket site is pretty clear that teh 20/21 dates are correct]

As for Z-B being back-to-back, that's very much on purpose; an experiment to see if the DL Finale can get more traction by being a 2-day extravaganza instead of being separated by a week.

Only twice has Pre ever had both PVs in the same meet, '02 and '04, and those both predated the Diamond League.

Doesn't fit well in a tightly controlled program.

For some reason, the DL basically always lists it as a one-day. If you read the press releases that are coming out (one on the mSP posted to our front page yesterday) you'll see it's dated as May 25-26.

It's pretty clear there is going to be at least one year they cannot stage Pre at Hayward, it would be nice to get some ideas of where they want to host it.

I can't wait for Pre this year, though I am a little bummed I won't get to see Mondo there. The women are jumping amazing, hopefully we get decent weather and a great competition

If you look at the DL site, I think you'lll find that every meet in the series is listing only DL events at this point.

What is missing in the DL events on the men's side is that every DL meet alternates events like having a 1 or a 2 and a 4 or an 8 and a 15 or steeple/5k. The meet is essentially missing either a DL 4 or an 8 by my interpretation.
