It's always a good idea to put Perkovic as captain. Glad she delivered in such a big way today!

Gardiner ran a very easy 43.87 as his season opener. Considering his 200m PR is now faster than van Niekerk's, I wonder just how deep into 43 he can get. Could the WR be in danger this year, or the next?

I thought Semenya was falling back a bit in that 1500m, but I should've known no one in the field was strong enough to beat her. Good race, and a soft WL.

Five sub-11 performers in the w100m, and Schippers sixth in 11.03! Strong performances! I thought Okagbare would have etched out a narrow victory, but it's Ta-Lou who starts the year off on a winning note with a solid 10.85!

And CT responds with 17.81. I picked him for the win. We shall see.

47.57 for Samba in one of the best-run 400H I have seen for a while.

I can only assume you are being sarcastic. It's the first competition ever with three men over 90!

I was worried after Perkovic's throw that picking Gardiner as my captain would backfire, luckily didn't happen.
