The LA Times has a very nice piece by Jerry Soifer on the California CIF State Meet. There are three pictures of 400m runners of note: Norman, the current rising star; Felix, the aging long-time star; and Smith, maybe the best of them all. 80 meet alumni are Olympic medalists. Louis Zamperini won the mile in 1934, and the HJ runner-up in 1993 is better known for winning several Olympic Golds in beach volleyball (Misty May- Treanor) and Johnny Mathis was sixth in another HJ. Long-time World Record holders FloJo, Powell, and Kevin Young; other WR setters include Warmerdam, Parry O'Brien and Dumas.
And of note, this will be Hal Harkness' 50th meet.
Here is my link but not sure it will work in general, as I am a digit subscriber.
