I think thet 2003 offers a rare opportunity for the United States women to break the World Junior Record in the 4x400 meters. The record is 3:28.39 by East Germany. I think a team of Allyson Felix, Shalonda Solomon, Sanya Richards and [Stephanie Smith?, Angel Perkins?] and we have the makings of a fast time!!!
If we couldn't do it last year with a World Junior Championships opportunity and talent at least as good as what we have this year, we're not likely to do it in 2003.
The problem with 2004 is that the World Junior Championships conflict with the US Olympic Trials and some of the very top athletes in that event and others may opt for the Trials rather than the World Juniors.
We couldn't do it last year, because we had to run Christina Hardeman in place of Sanya Richards, thats about at least a 3 second difference when it comes to splits. And the same for the 4x100-no Felix and no Richards.
In addition you probably won't see Felix or Richards in Junior competition anymore. They are world-class athletes now.
