Fuigured we could have a topic for the Pros as well.

I'm seeing that Echevarria has apparently already jumped 8.92m +3.3 in Cuba.

Echevarria's indoor season was a bit underwhelming: 8.08, 8.12 and 8.21. But this result gives hope he can pick it up in the outdoor season and hopefully do even better than last year. He's still just 20.

Some heady marks indeed in Havana:
Echevarria 8.92w (3.3) in his only jump
      Masso 8.30w (3.4)

      MTJ Diaz 17.41w (2.1)
WTJ Povea 15.05w (3.0) backed up with 14.74w and 14.88w
      WHep Rodriguez 6293 including 7.02w (4.0) LJ
      WDT Perez 65.78

8.92 sounds much more impressive as 29-3¼!

I predict Echevarria will break the world long jump record before Halloween of 2019.

There are too many OTHER variables (than talent and skill) to make that prediction stick.

If he jumped in Mexico City it would have been 9.92 easily.

At least it wasn't a 0.0 Indianapolis wind. Give them that.

Shaky amateur video of the jump. Reminiscent of Lewis's wind-milling hitch-kick.
