  • It's early, but he's fast [Matthew Boling]

Matthew Boling of Houston's Strake Jesuit HS sprinted 10.22/20.58 (legal) at the TSU Relays over the weekend. He had a 10.28 (legal) in the prelims of the 100. Boling, a Georgia signee, ran 46.15 for the 400 last year as a junior.

Last year he was also our No. 5 All-America in the long jump.

I was thinking that with all of his great performances in many different disciplines he should be a deca-man. Then I read this and I got excited.

"Last season, we asked the question, if Boling was the best athlete in high school track and field? Well, in the fall, he signed a National Letter of Interest (NLOI) with the University of Georgia, which is currently one of the best collegiate teams in producing top multi event athletes in track and field." https://tx.milesplit.com/articles/258129

Please let him be a deca-man.

Is it just me or is his sprint form pretty damn great?

Speaking of Georgia decathletes, any news on Kyle Garland?

In an interview, Boling said this was the first time he's run the 100m since 7th grade!

The URL says football, but the article says he was signed to a track scholarship.

What does UGA offer that UT Austin doesn't?

                      His times are World #6 and World #5 respectively (100m / 200m).
Can't believe this is his first high school competition in the 100m.

Usain Bolt never ran the 100 from his early teens until the age of 20.

I don't think he played football...at least recently.

If he suits up for football, it is, by rule, a football scholarship.
