  • Anyone who's been following T&F for at least a couple of years should know we never get actual start lists more than a day in advance. And the WC team manual has the usual clause:
"For events held on the first day, Final Confirmation of Entries must be made before 12:00 (noon) on 25th September and, for all subsequent days, before 12:00 (noon) on the
    day before the event."

OK, then. That nails it. I guess I've been following athletics for too long. >:-)
      Thanks,

Having followed T&F for over 50 years now, I also did not realize that Hassan and Klosterhalfen did not have to declare their intentions before the meet began. And frankly, the idea that 'entry lists' do not have to indicate 'entry' by events is alien to me.

          • It's just one of those things that get discussed and explained on these boards before every major champs, yet people are surprised by every time.

I reckon it's an Alberto Salazar ruse to try and mess with the heads and tactical planning of their potential competitors.
