McCarthy vs McCartney isn't even a question of spelling, they're two wholly different names. You could just as well start throwing the book at people for pointing out Seyni is from Niger, not Nigeria.

The important word here is critiquing. In one of my early posts, I used the word necropsy. gh gently suggested that I meant necrology. He was, of course, correct, and I took it as supportive, not critical. We cleaned up my mess.

My take on this is that a suggestion of checking a spelling, or a PM, is not critical, and can be positive.

In this case, I would recommend that the thread topic should be edited by a mod. If anyone ever does a search for McCartney, this thread should be in the results.
