I hope Warner can push Mayer. Another 10.1 in the 100 would be a great start!

Looking at the timetables for the dec and hep, it appears that each day's events are more compressed than they would usually be but the gap between the last event of the first day and the first of the second is longer. I wonder if this will have a big impact but I think it is similar to many 2 day combined events only meets. Obviously there is something of a timeshift involved.

Well, that's how I picked it, which, of course, means that it can't happen.

One thing that amazes me about Mayer is that he looks kinda long and lean but his shot put is over 17 metres - about 57 feet. Impressive.

It wouldn't be a proper decathlon if we didn't have any surprises.

Kaul starting with a slightly sub-par 100. 11.27, compared to 11.17 he ran while setting his PB.

More seriously, here is an interview with his strength coach, Jerome Simian, who focuses on fixing the weakest element.

Has anyone over 2 meters tall ever run the 100 as fast as Lepage? His PB is 10.31.

Mayer is in incredible shape. Let's hope he stays in one piece and doesn't do anything stupid like foul 3 times in the LJ because his strides are longer than he expected.
