Thiam would like to have a cushion over KJT in this event, especially after losing ground in the hurdles.

Thiam not seeming quite on it in the HJ. Hurdles wasn't decent for her but HJ is a bit off. More attempts than normal and looking a bit ragged. Equally there is the elbow issues which may mean she's trying to get more points in the none throwing events to mitigate the fact she may feel she's not going to do a big javelin.
Same height though for KJT and Thiam in the HJ so no disaster for either of them, but I'm sure thiam would have wanted more.

Thiam seems to be doing well, nothing spectacular but solid all around. KJT seems to be lifting herself. Whether she'll be able to sustain that as we get closer to the finish line is another matter, she's always been chasing Thiam for the last few years how she'll deal with potentially being able to beat her is another matter. Equally Thiam may raise her game now she's being rushed or she may falter more.
KJT does look a bit more outwardly confident than I've seen her for a while. Equally the fact her best throw was at the end bodes well that she was able to step it up and deliver her best then.

There have been some mismeasurements at these championships; Kitaguchi's first throw in the wJT qualifying (which was immediately noticed and corrected by the officials), and I think at least one throw in the men's discus qualifying as well.
Those were big enough to be obvious (even with all the graphical lines being in the wrong place); but who knows what else has gone uncaught?

I've just watched Broersen's last throw and there was a massive amount of time between the shot landing and an official walking into the sector to measure it. This is a particular risk throwing on grass as with cinder-type landing areas you can often spot the 'fresh' mark but it is less clear on grass.
