Thanks for your posts and projections I really enjoyed them. I like how they're realistic projections and more on the conservative side. Often when multi eventers get compared its based on pb's. Partly I suppose that's due to the limited amount of hepts/decs people do a year but equally a pb might be far off your sb, and depending on when the sb was made you may not be in that form at a different point n the season especially in a weird season like this year when the champs is so late.

Youve a bee in your bonnet about this Powell, and have always been a wee bit negative about KJT's ability. Time to let it go, let it goooo
I think Powell's point was about egregiously poor marking. That should be a concern for every fan.

In the raw image it's about (or just over) two-thirds of the way from the 12-meter line to the 14-meter line, as shown in this edited version; the pixel in the middle of the 12-meter line is at (474,398), the pixel that probably represents the closest point of the impact hole is at (398,475), and the pixel in the middle of the 14-meter line is at (362,512).

Estimating the distance is a lot more complicated than that because of the perspective issues 26mi235 noted, and also because the lines are never exactly right; most likely it was a bit longer than the 13.35 the raw numbers suggest.

I cannot seem to copy the figure, but doing a couple of measurements on it I get it marginally under 13.5, although distance from the back are compressed more so I would guess it to be 13.52 but it could be a short as 13.45.

OK, here you can see the mark made by KJT's shot on the '13.86' attempt. Draw your own conclusions. The lines were at 12 and 14 meters.

I thought it was great to see KJT finally starting to get a hurdles time reflective of her 200 meter speed.

Kluft set her PB aged 24, as was Shouaa, Barber was 25. JJK and Ennis were 26, whilst Braun was 27, as was Paetz-John, Anke Behmer...but Dobrynska was 28. Kat can still PB next year for sure

I just hope KJT and Thiam are both injury free in Tokyo. Thiam has had some injuries this year and Kat has had some the previous few years so I hope they can both go into Tokyo in tip top shape and really face off.

She just exceeded (my) expectations in all 7 events and beat her PB by over 100 points. Next year she'll be 27, which may not seem old, but most Heptathletes have had their PRs by then. Out of the top 15 today, only Broersen, Ahouanwanou and Voronina are older than her. While I'm happy to be wrong, this is mostly likely as good as she'll get. Having said that, her and Thiam re-matching next year should be great.
