A good list to add/update “Where are they going” as college commitments roll in. Cole Sprout won 5A State yesterday, broke his own course record with a 15:12 at about 6200’ altitude in C Springs. Said his college choices are down to Stanford and Washington.

        Ha! NOT on XC!
Cross Country is basically a 5000m race (the event when I go to the concession stand) on grass.

I'll gladly watch a 5000m race on the track, but most XC courses are not spectator-friendly. And not because they're run on grass.

There's also the fact that for all of the events other than the distance runs, XC is irrelevant. The next thing to look ahead to is indoor track.

Thanks for doing your annual list Atticus. I always enjoy it. I know they are too young to really know, but it is fun to speculate on future stars. Other than the obvious, which would be Robinson, Williams, Mu and Kayla Davis, who are the best guesses to become future international stars 7 years from now?

Not many would have picked Matt Boling this time last year!

In some ways the 4x400 is the greatest track event - it is the only really team event that you came watch knowing how things are playing out. Cross is likewise the ultimate distance team event. And some of the best venues are more fan friendly, including the Zimmer course at Wisconsin and Indiana States course. Of course, all the major races at those venues is also streamed live using at least three cameras.

Nico Young, Leo Daschbach and Cole Sprout have been spectacular so far this XC season. Any or all could run sub-8:40 next spring.

Bit unremarkable time even considering its an early indoor time. Id think she could drop an easy 53 low at the least but who knows what kind of training she is doing.

She split 26.9 and 27.6 in a youth meet at the Armory for the 54.5. She also won the 200m in 24.9.

Maybe there were some reigns on her.
