He had already shown his potential in a couple of competitions last summer, but somehow could never get his best effort when attacking the higher heights. Until now his PB was 5.51. He reportedly cleared the 5.61 with room to spare, but did not attempt any more heights. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go significantly higher before the winter's over.
Saw impressive result from junior sprinter Oliwer Wdowik. 21.29 for his age indoor is impressive. Do you know any of his history? (for Powell as if I needed to state that)
Last year he ran 21.55 indoors and 21.20 out, and finished 3rd at the European Youth Olympics.
Speaking of talented juniors, Pia Skrzyszowska (born 2001) has already set a 60 meter PB with 7.33 in Luxembourg. And I believe she's still primarily targetting the hurdles.
Piotr Lisek has decided to miss the indoor season. He withdrew from a competition last weekend, and reportedly it's nothing too serious, but considering there's no WIC this year, he decided it's not worthwhile coming back before the outdoor season.
