  • UCLA loses big NCAA points

Can I assume there is no "TV courtesy" rule for the NCAAs, since the replay won't be for another week?

UCLA may have just fallen out of the women's race: Channiqua Ross failed to advance from discus qualifying. Scratch 8 points from the form chart.

Of course, dropped batons by LSU or Texas could put them back in it.

If UCLA is out of it and LSU and Texas drop the baton or have sloppy handoffs, then Florida will take the title.

Boy, you're mighty optimistic about those throwers, aren't you? Sorry, but I think Florida will have to perform quite well just to finish fourth.

        Sylvester

Marc Sylvester did not make it out of 800 prelims. That's 8 pts down the chute on the T&FN formchart. :-(

Ouch. Looks like sitting and kicking wasn't a good strategy, if that's what he did.

Yes, I am. But not just about the throwers. The relays and sprints as well. Not too mention the other field events as well. They're a well balanced team. But I must agree with you in that they will have to go that extra step to win it all. But the worst they'll finish is 3rd not 4th. they have just a strong a chance as any team in the country.

              Re: Sylvester

I got word that Sylvester was sick heading into the competition and had a hard time obviously coming over it -- but this is coming from someone who sent me a message on IM from out there.
