Rabbits seem to have a easy job but it is not as easy as it seems. When I did not know any better I said to myself gosh he can win it why is he dropping out? They are in really good shape and a well seasoned rabbit is not going to glance at his watch...like I saw this weekend...you pull them and get out of the way.

Re: Rabbits
Tom Byers was rumored to be blacklisted as a rabbit when he did not drop out of a race and ended Ovett's winning streak. He then went on to some great times on his own. Tom lives in Central Ohio. His son ran in the 1:54 range this year as a hs senior and will attend Kentucky. This is faster than Tom who ran in the 4:20/1:57 range in hs, then 3:37 as an Ohio State frosh before going on to develop to a 3:50 miler. Watch for his son.

Re: Rabbits
You could probably find out for sure by checking the Weber site, but I could've sworn I saw Pilkington in Weber State jacket last night here in Sacramento.
An athlete who made most (all?) his money from rabbiting is Josephat Kapkory, formerly of Wazzu, who's been THE steeple rabbit for the past 5-6 years.
