  • Auburn back in?

Auburn had some good results today, including first and third in the 400H. Are they back in it?

After doing some calculations, I think Auburn has an outside shot. If Sanjay Ayre pulls off a surprise in the 400 and Arkansas' distance squad falters, keep an eye on Auburn's 4x4.

I believe more than an outside shot. My late-night figuring says Arkansas 55, Auburn 53!

Overnight, the scores are Auburn 37, Arkansas 30. Here's how tomorrow plays out (hypothetically), with each school projected to score in 3 events, but never (dang!) going head-to-head:

      400, Auburn gets a 5th.
      800, Arkansas gets a 4th
      1500, Arkansas gets 3rd, 5th and 8th
      5K, Arkansas gets a win
      TJ, Auburn gets a 2nd

so, going into the 4x4, Arkansas has 55, Auburn has 49. Prediction says Auburn 5th, but needs 2nd to win, 3rd to tie.

A wild card in this could be Ahmad Carroll of Arkansas, projected not to score, but is the 9th man in 200 final. Any points he gets are gravy. And those in the know, say the original formcharting of Ayre of Auburn as 5th in the 400 is way low.

As they, be sure to check your local listings!

Watch out for the Gator men. 3rd place and hopefully climbing up. Go Gators!

Gators may be lucky to hold onto 3rd. Gotta remember they only have three people in play today: Joseph in the 800, Walker in the 110H and the 4x4.
