The NCAA Champs site has no end of wretched characteristics. Every 120 seconds the front page refreshes automatically (why?). If you're in the middle of navigating to an event, it cuts you off, sends you back to the front. And as you get later in the meet, you then have to scroll as well, because it also sends you to the top of the page. And when you click on an event, does it come up? No, it goes into the menu, then you c lick on another box next to it. Hire somebody with basic skills, boys!

Re: Speaking Of Lame Websites
The reason it reloads every 120 seconds is because if you have the page open, it will update with the latest results links from the drop-down menu.
However, the designers put themselves into this position when they could have used a more user-friendly system for updated results on the fly.
As many of you know how Flashresults.com produces their results system, it's the most efficient way for people to get results on demand with the use of their left navigation frame. This way, you can easily find what you are looking for with one click of the mouse and you don't have to leave the current page.
In the Sacramento State case, you have to click your mouse at least 2-3 times to find one event and it takes you to a new window. Yes, very minor details, but as the user suggested above it's what keeps visitors coming back to a website and they could have done a better job with the presentation of results.

Best track results website
I'm pretty picky about this type of thing, and the best track results website I've ever seen was Auburn's from the '97 SEC Championships.
http://www.auburn.edu/athletics/SECTrack/index.html
IMO, these results websites should not have annoying "dropdown" menus. And they should not be broken up into "track" and "field" events. They should also have a schedule handy listing the time of day at which the events are taking place.
The Auburn site had the events listed in the order in which they were competed. When the event was taking place, next to that event on the site was the word "Live." When the event was complete, "Results" replace the word "Live." If the final results were revised, the word "Revised" replaced "Results."
As I recall, the site had the time of day at which the respective events took place next to each event listing. So you didn't have to go to another site to find out when an event was taking place.
Everything you needed was on this one page: the time of day when the event was taking place, the word "Live" to indicate that the event was in progress, and "Results" to show you the final results.
It's been six years and I've logged onto a million track results sites since, but the Auburn site is still the best I've seen. I think other sites are too proud to copy this oldie but goodie.

Re: Worst track results website
Consistently the worst place to find results has to be CFPI Timing. Every time I see a link with their domain name in it I cringe. Frequently, the meet site is posting results so you don't have to rely on joker central but it is pretty sad that they're timing the adidas Outdoor Championships and don't have any of those results on their site yet. On top of that, they use URL (web addresses) that some browsers can't handle.
