Speaking of white 400 runners, whatever happened to Kevin Little? Retired? (I was overseas last year) I remember when he ran 44.77 back in '96, and thought he should've gotten the hint to move up...

Do you not pay attention..Mitch Potter and Adam Steele (both white)just go 44.5, both better than Kevin Little. There is also Andrew Larock 45.2 and Mike Kenyon 45.2. There are definatley white 400m guys out there. -

I think that it is great to have white 400m runners with such high abilities, I myself am African-American. Also, my favorite event is the 400meters.Comment

I talked to Mike Kenyon over email this week and he told me he is sitting out the rest of this season to focus on next year and run 44's.Comment

Mike was my teammate here at Arizona. He was on a roll last year. Over the summer he broke our school record running 405 meters in 45 sec flat, A test coach Harvey runs annually for people who think they can break the record. Mike will be back next season...Comment

Kevin Little (mid-30s) is retired. A businessman, I believe. Little is actually known more for his 200 feats: 1997 World Indoor 200 champion; 1999 World Indoor 200 bronze medalist; 7th in 200 at 2001 World OutdoorsComment

Adam Steele and Mitch Potter have set the standard.Not only for white quarter milers, but for young quarter milers in general. Those first three places at 44.5 were all run by Juniors in college, and even more impressive...By Americans!!!I can't wait to get back on the track after those performances...Comment

Thanks for the info re Mr. Little - Not disparaging his 200m accomplishments by any means, just always believed he could've been a highly competitive 400m runner had he chosen to concentrate on that distance...armchair quarterbacking, I know!Comment

thomas shoenlebe was the last white 400 meter world champion in 87, i think his pr was 44.3.
roger black and iwan thomas run 44.3 too, but only won european titles.Comment

Looking at the high school ranks
Chip Rish (1985) ran a 45.7h and 46.09 the next year he was part of the World Junior Record 4 x 400 (3:01+) at the inanuguarl world Junior championships. PS> he also ran a 45.9 as a 16 year old.Comment

hey you guys, i live in Minnesota and i have watched Adam Steele and Mitch Potter both run.. they are extraordinary runners!! 400 runners i mean... i mean i kinda of agree with the black people kinda of dominate the sprints but only sometimes.... the evidence is right in front of us... hey Matt Lea, do you still go to the university of arizona?? because if you do maybe you could help me out... i need some help... thanks man... ttylComment
