Didn't Ingo Schultz from Germany finish 2nd in the 400 at the last World Championships?
I also remember Roger Black (who is white)finishing 2nd to Michael Johnson at the '96 Olympics.

You're right about Shcultz. He finished 2nd at the 2001 World Championships, after runninng a PR of 44.66s in his Semi-Final.
And Roger Black(Yes he was and still is white!!!) won the silver behind Antonio Pettigrew(USA) in the Tokyo 1991 World Championships Men's 400m final. He also ran the 1st leg for the GBR Men's winning 4x400m relay team in the same World Championships. And yes he did win the silver behind MJ in the 1996 Atlanta OG Men's 400m final in a time of 44.41s which was his 3rd est ever time, and only 4/100ths of a second behind his then GBR Men's 400m record of 44.37s.
