  • Athens GP results

A bit of techinical difficulties have prevented the results links for today's meet from being up temporarily. In the meantime, you can find results at the following:

    http://www.tsiklitiria.org/startlists/index.htm

There seems to be a 30min delay before results are on the site. Not bad for Greece! :-)

Sanchez 48.07 WL, Aliu 10.03 in the first 100 heat.

      Re: Athens GP results

i am surprised so many americans showed up in greece which is so antiamerican nowdays. a lot of them like gaines, dragila, a williams, seemed flat and jet lagged. only phillips and glover did really well. there are many more meets left till the worlds.

Disappointed? Did you read the last issue of our Bible (a conceit, but one I can live with, given their years of service)? Check out the thing about pegs. Totally unfair to judge this year's performances by last.

Based solely on my observations at the Pre, it
looked like Dragila was utilizing more power in her approach, but she had not zeroed in her timing, yet. She also looked like she was carrying a bit more body fat than I've seen her carry in the past. On her next to last attempt, she would have cleared 15'6".
Svetlana Feofanova was jumping with much less overt power but with considerable finesse. She seemed the flow over the bar as contrast to "jumping" over the bar.

Dwight Phillips jumped 27-8. Nice jump for the first meet back in Europe--or any meet for that matter.

Just for information, the Trikala site has some nice downloadable avis from last year's meet on www.tsiklitiria.org/history/archive.htm including excellent coverage of 2002 sprints. They note that videos will be posted for the 2003 meeting soon
