  • Rickey Harris to leave Florida

According to Florida head coach Mike Holloway, Rickey Harris will not be enrolled in Florida starting in the fall and will no longer compete for the Gators.

Holloway could not comment or provide any information on where Harris will be going.

Harris claimed the 2002 NCAA Outdoor title in the 400 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 48.16. The 2001 NCAA Indoor Champion in the 400 meters also holds a personal best of 44.84 in the open race.

Harris ran 51.19 in his semi and didn't make the final. How will that make him change his mind?

Just because he's leaving Florida doesn't mean he's going pro. It just means he's leaving Florida. He could be transferring or going pro decided to be a pro wraaastler for all I know.

Coach Holloway has released him as well. He will only have to sit out next year if he decides to go to another SEC school.
