          They've already found a gene that, when manipulated, allowed rats to run 50% longer (this was from a scientific study released in the last month, noted on a different thread). Over the long haul (centuries), genetic manipulation likely will become commonplace and accepted for many ailments and conditions, and I'd presume it would become impossible for "performance enhancement" rules to take into account all that. Perhaps we'll just have more categories for people to compete in: those with/without Gene X manipulation, etc., etc. It will become like drag races with classes of cars --
