  • Kennedy update

    Walt Murphy shipped this around.

"In recent weeks, the best American distance runner of the past 15 years, Bob Kennedy, has added his name to the list of greats who have gone up to Magnolia to get stronger and faster. Nearing the end of his career, Kennedy, 34, is training in the Boulder area to prepare for his marathon debut Nov. 7 at the New York City Marathon."

      <<I thought that was Regina's claim...??>>

Interesting to note that she has apparently reworded her profile to reduce her running accomplishments to:

"Before becoming a real estate agent, I was a professional runner. I traveled around the world competing."

Lol! I think that's a direct result of an email sent to her by a certain Mr. Flumpy...

Not to mention the well-deserved derision she was given here.

            And on IAAF forums.
And.. well... from most T&F fans, really.

I for one will be rooting very hard for Bob to bust out a 2:09 or 2:10 debut in NYC, just as Salazar did 24 years ago.

I think Kennedy will be more of a Todd Williams than a Salazar, but I hope I'm wrong.

I certainly like to think so, although she never replied to my fan letter.

Often the best place to find that information is from the race site itself:
