    At this level if you don't have a natural kick there's virtually nothing you can do to develop one. Paula doesn't have one and never will (unfortunately).

      True - the ability to kick is down to natural-born ability. Athletes either have it or they don't. What Paula DOES have, however, is the ability of being a strong finisher, and that is something that she has worked on. In a 10k race, for example, she'll put in a significant push of pace with 3-5km to go. Likewise with the Marathon - when she's at her best, she will wind up the last 8-10km with a kick that no others can hang with.

        not sure about that:

        remember in munich, she went thru in something like 14'57 - 14'59 & came back in 15'02 - 15'05 & she was flat out

        certainly in '02, her last 3-5k would have been unlikely enough to shake off the galz in '03 & maybe '04
