anyone think that he will be able to defend his world championship, or do you think someone like JJ johnson or coby miller will take it? lets not discount frank fredricks or ramon clay, or someone else who wants it. kederis was a come from no where victory himself. and i see that a japanese sprinter has the fastest time of the year so far? i wonder how he will do at WC if he has made it on the japanese team that is. i personally hope coby miller gets it.

Kederis has the 'remarkable' ability to peak at the right time and then sort of disappear. He is the favorite.

Now that's what T&FN needs to do, be the bookie for betting on track. I would love to bet against FF, who I like, winning. I don't like KK (let's just say I'm skeptical), but if he's there he'll win.

Can you imagine the pressure on Kedéris should he win in Paris, leading up to the Olympics?!?

whether he wins or not this year he will have tremendous pressure next year. he will be 31 then so it will be even more difficult. only mj and ff stayed at the top at the 200 meters for a long period of time. it seems a lot of sprinters have a few good seasons then get injured or disappear. kenderis have had three good (albeit very very brief seasons with 4 meets each) seasons so something is bound to give. in fact t&fnews did not even rank him # 1 last year despite his sub 20, prefering the more consistent and tested fredericks. i like fredericks (he is one of my favorites non us athletes), but i doubt frankie at almost 36 will be able to run three rounds then blast a sub 20 in the final. capel, jj and patton have not been tested at this level, but are much younger than ff and kk so one or two might have the meet of their lives. who knows !

Kederis is a great runner when there are rounds. He gets stronger and stronger and he runs the last 50 meters of the 200 with exceptional power and technigue. If he is fit he will be hard to beat, but when and where does this guy ever run. I never see him in any meets. He is kind of like a mystery man before and after the championships. dave s
