  • ESPN's Top Rookies of 2004

Y'all are gonna love this; our sport gets props from ESPN (and without dwelling too much on drugs!): http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... prookies04

What's also interesting is that poll off to the side, where they let the ESPN.com readers pick from among their choices -- Wariner is currently in third with 6.4 percent of the vote. Frankly, I think that's pretty damn good, especially considering that first and second are Ben Roethlisberger and Adrian Peterson. Love football or hate it, it's hard to argue against the seasons those two have had.

Disheartening, though, that espn knows so little about the sport that his Olympic win is called "one of the biggest upset wins in Olympic sprint history." Exactly who did he upset?

I think ESPN's perception of Wariner's victory as an "upset" may have something to do with his complexion.

            and their Balconian comment:

"Best of all, he's apparently clean -- that's what the tests (and the inside dope) says."

Who, pray tell, is the Inside Dope?

No doubt about it. Unless they thought MJ was in the race. I wouldn't put it past them!
