This is not meant to put down Fresno State or West Virginia, schools who've programs have recently been cut (Fresno is keeping outdoor track I think).
But if you were an AD, and you had to cut a sport, would you not also cut track? It's expensive and it's a sport that generates little or no fan support.
Who is a West Virginia track fan who didn't go to school there? What meets do they put on that people want to attend?
I love track. But if schools want to see it survive at schools outside the big conferences, they'd better create some meaningful competition.
