After witnessing the men's high jump at USATF nationals, I'd have to say the Olympic trials are particularly up for grabs next July. I know. It's early, and there are several seasoned vets in the mix, but...
There is a seldom mentioned/seen high jumper out of UF who looked fit and mighty impressive at the SECs indoors in March with a leap of 226 m...well over the bar too. My understanding is that he is 6'0" 170, very lean, athletic, and strong...had a disappointing NCs after having a solid indoor season throughout...sat out the outdoor season. Did anyone see him jump at the SECs? What did you think? I understand that he is very competitive, not easily intimidated by the competiton, and can grab an audience with charisma...good be a surprise darkhorse. I believe his name is Joe Squittieri.
