I'm talking about mass consumption of all forms and the above posts just make my point. The minute the masses start to think that track and field is the greatest thing going, I'll get nervous and wonder what has been done to it. It's all just modern day christians vs the lions. Before you get too proud of yourself, remember that Robert Frost wrote "The Road Not Taken" to apply to EVERYONE. We are all eccentric, but the less 'elitist' of us recognize the equal worth of all our fellow creatures and try not to look down our noses at them.

It's popular because third-world peoples can play it without any facilities or equipment (and not even a real ball). If I want "nuance"in a sporting event I'll watch a chess match.
