Re: IAAF to Retest All Urine Samples from Paris

    >"Why let the oppostion have your stuff?">>

    >M O N E Y>>

No, it's for MONEY that they don't. BALCO is a multi-million dollar company that makes its bucks selling "legitimate" products and testing services. If only people wearing ZIMA hats are plugging them, and they're doing better than everybody else, it's a far more effective endorsement. The amount of money to be made off THG itself is probably minimal (at least until it comes out in the open and then every musclehead on the planet wants it).

Re: IAAF to Retest All Urine Samples from Paris

sometimes feeling for something is more than enough instead of evidence. But still I can't understand why the WADA and IAAF etc don't want to retest for competitions before PARIS...

Would thsis "scandal" be too much for "our sport" if the results will be possitive too ?

By the way is it true that in some countries the authorities are lying about retesting (because there is nothing to retest...)?

A little bird is giving more names involved in this scandal.... Does the name "Patrick" ring any bells ?

            To Me:

The thing is, as you know too, that if they do that, then "those HEROES" will also go down together with "high profile coaches" but this time the group is from ALL over the world, and not just from the so far 2 countries involved.

But if they don't retest for Norbolethone That will be seriously unfair and suspicious from the authorities side.

After all we, they (WADA, IAAF etc)and them (users...) we all live in the same world and we no 100% what's going on and how, don't we?

The hypocrisy has no end and the thing that makes me mad is that they show this with their behavior. Few years ago the 4 year ban became 2...
Oh yeah ? Why? I tell you why because we want New WR and not the 100m Final be won in 10.07...

The sponsors would go away if suddenly everything would become slow, the people watching to.

what do they thing up there that if you pass a test that you are clean ? (haha)

I'm not sure what your knowledge of the use of Norbolethone in athletes but a quick search in google came up with this link:

                  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/quer ... t=Abstract

Looks to me like Dr. Catlin's already aware of the stuff and has (or is working on) the capability to test for it. Seems like only a matter of time before they start testing for it.

What you are saying has no sense.
Ofcourse Catlin has already a test for Norbolethone. What I was saying is that when they discovered it on a possitive test (because it wasn't on the list then) that time they should have done the same retesting on all samples of that year (2002).

Re: IAAF to Retest All Urine Samples from Paris

This leads me to ask. Why can there not be a formal policy that all samples from major championships (Olympic games, World Champs etc) are retained for at least one year and possibly two or three. Are there technical problems with the legitimacy of the sample? What are the issues? This would hit directly at the issue of the testers always testing for last years drug of choice and not "this" years.

It would be illuminating to find out how far back into track history that Victor Conte has been supplying track athletes. Some I have spoken to remember a small lab in San Jose a long time ago.

I presume no further details will follow, for "unproven" charges against specific athletes, would get the message deleted/pulled. As a matter of interest, how old in Victor Conte?
