Sadly, I don't see why we'd be amazed at this. In ANY competitive situation, there is the strong temptation to gain an advantage, any advantage.

It's only cheating because it's been defined as cheating. Take away the prohibition against substance use and you will have no cheating.

I find it weird cause McEwan is an incredible athlete but while his hammer marks are impressive, he still is not entirely world class. Sure a 75m hammer thrower is good but for the athletic ability he has, he hasn't set the hammer world alight. I mean he can vertical jump 38" or something, did the extra strength(from THG) really help him? I doubt it. But he's a pretty impressive weight thrower. As for the 63 year old, all I could say is sad...
