  • Information about drugs results, not punishment

How about this for a work around for the drug issue?
Rather than punishing athletes through bans that are prone to extended legal actions and cannot react quickly to new drugs, do you think it may be preferable to simply publish all test results with consequences coming in terms of publicity and sponsorships.
Therefore, if you choose to use drugs it will show up in your tests. Histories of an athlete's levels of hormones and drugs can be analyzed for patterns. If a new drug shows up, there will be no need to add it to the list of punishments after the fact.
The IAAF and USATF could still have a position of not accepting the use of drugs by not giving subjective awards to suspect athletes who under the ban system would be banned, but the biggest punishment would come when athletes who have high drugs and hormone levels would not be paid by clothing and shoe companies and not invited to private meets.
