  • I thought this was a country of free speech and expression.

seems as if this is a dictatorship led site. I have expressed my personal opinion and told the truth. I guess someone don't care if the truth is told when it's steping on some personal toes. I'll post again and hopefully the dictator will e-mail me and explain why my free speech is be objected. :?

The International Olympic Committee is so full of crap I will never watch the event again. They are afraid to challenge the Chinese on anything. The International Association of Athletics Federations and World Anti-Doping Association need to be disbanded for their actions. How in the hell can Bolt run that many rounds in such a short time and respond with a world record time in the 200. I’ll tell you why... the, International Association of Athletics Federations, which is responsible for testing Jamaican athletes, does not test them at all. They don't have the resources to keep up with all the chemically produced performance drugs that are out there. One year ago, you never heard of bolt. Now in an Olympic year he burst onto the scene. All the Jamaicans were super fast this year after being blown out the waters four years ago. Now, United States Anti-Doping Association, you need to open your eyes and take your embarrassment like the wimps you are. The U.S. got their butts kicked because United States Anti-Doping Association lets the International Association of Athletics Federations and World Anti-Doping Association run the track and field on the us grounds as well as the rest of the world. United States of America Track and Field needs to be overhauled totally. The United States will never win again as long as the bunch of gutless wimps (United States Anti-Doping Association and United States of America Track and Field) continue to run the show and afraid to challenge the International Association of Athletics Federations and World Anti-Doping Association in their own backyard.

VICTOR Conte, the jailed mastermind of the Balco drugs scandal in the US, says he warned the World Anti-Doping Agency about a drugs supplier working with elite athletes and suggested eight months ago sending disguised drug testers to Jamaica.

The International Olympic Committee has not released test results from the track and field program, but samples from the opening night's competition, including those of Jamaican 100 metres champion Usain Bolt, were expected soon. Bolt has been drug tested seven times since arriving in Beijing, the Jamaican team doctor, Herb Elliott, has said.

Conte said he had no evidence of doping by any of the winners but noted that when sprint times "begin falling like rain, questions arise".

He said this was especially so when the record breakers came from Caribbean nations such as Jamaica where there was no independent anti-doping agency.

Conte said Bolt's 100 metres in 9.69 seconds was almost unbelievable.

He said the time of the women's 100 metres champion Shelly-Ann Fraser — a blazing 10.78 seconds — was an improvement of more than half a second in a year.

"I have no knowledge that these individuals were involved in wrongdoing. All I know is that they and other athletes come from regions where minimal off-season testing is administered," he said.

Conte wrote in the New York Daily News that former head of WADA Dick Pound stepped down weeks after being tipped off, including being given the drug supplier's name, phone number and contacts. Pound was replaced by Australia's John Fahey.

Conte said those in WADA who conducted investigations and drug testing had not acted on the tip-off.

He said there was no routine offseason testing from October to January, when cheating athletes use steroids in combination with intensive weight training. Testing at major competitions and between grand prix meetings was ineffective.

GATTMAN - I think one of the sticky's mentioned to not post any new subjects in this forum (it could possibly be posted in one of the other subtopics in this forum)...I do not think they objected to your view by removing the post. They simply removed it because this subtopic was event-by-event.

Here's the real problem. This is just a veiled (or not) accusation of doping.

MARLOW - If such is the reason, then a number of posts in the w100 should be deleted as they allude to possible enhancement for the winner and the team.

Gattman, while I have suspicions about what goes on, I'm trying to stay away from that and just try to enjoy the Olympics. I have mentioned before that I have spoken with some athletes who have been on "the circuit" and they feel that there are certain political moves afoot that basically allow a lot of "third world" athletes to get away with "chemical murder" when it comes to doping - I am not singling any athletes or countries out. The flip side is that before lobbing bombs at other countries' athletes we have to realistically look at some of our own in the US who are obviously doing ... something. One athlete I will not name here has had such a change in his delt and pec development recently that I'm sure he took whatever measures he felt were necessary to get him over the hump. Again, I will not say who or what event. But I was around enough athletes when I competed and am around enough of them now, some of whom are quite open about drug use in their particular sports, that I know what I am looking at on the track.

However, does this mean that Bolt is doping? I hope not. He was such a talent at 16 that I have to give him the benefit of the doubt. As I said before, I think (I hope I am right) he's just one of those rare, superior human beings that comes along in sports whose talent redefines what being the best means.

gm, I don't know anything about gattman other than that he has arrived at this message forum. That alone tells me he has a very strong interest in track and field. I think his posts should be taken seriously. JMO.

There are standards in place here and in most like sites that have nothing to do with Constitutional rights--it's private propitty and there be Hall monitors.

So I guess the testers I have seen on several occasions descending on the athletes while in training are all imaginary then? I guess I need to go see a shrink because clearly I was hallucinating.
Listen fool, when you jump to accuse people of stuff it would suit you to get your facts straight before you go shooting off your mouth.
You know nothing about Jamaica or its athletes. You know nothing about our culture of not putting crap into your system.
People like yourself and Victor Conte just need to be heard and to be seen and would destroy the reputation of innocents to do so.
Leave the athletes alone. What, is being the fastest men or women in the world an exclusive right of the First World?
                      I think not.
Training regimens, nutrition and all the elements that go into producing world class athletes are available in Jamaica, not necessarily in the same quantities but they are available.
My grandmother used to tell me that if you have nothing good to say keep your mouth shut. I am passing that advice on to you.

If you are not in the loop you can not possibly know what's going on and any speculation, however logically laid out, only reflects back on you. Why this desperate need to know everything that is going on behind the scenes? The only thing worse than that is the false cynicism that is taking hold of t&f fans. It is this that will kill the sport, not what the athletes, coaches, agents and meet directors do.
