I'm sick of the bullshit reporting that continues to state that lewis failed a drug test and then equates it to that for which Ben Johnson was caught. Lewis had a positive test for low levels of a stimulant that was determined to be sufficiently low as to have no performance enhancing effect. He was also able to legitimately account for it's presence in his urine(over-the-counter cold medicine). This is not even remotely similar to Ben Johnson getting caught taking steroids, admitting to long term use of steroids, and getting caught again after being reinstated.
I think that Ben was one of the most well trained sprinters in history (steroids not withstanding) and I wish him well in this race. I get sick of the attempts to diminish others careers, especially Carl Lewis's, because they ran in an era where a prominent athlete on the world scene was caught for cheating.

Agree with Steve 100%. So, will we watch? I think the whole concept is awful for how T&F is percieved by the general public. However, despite this, I bet at the last minute I say, "ok, let's see what happens". I won't pay for it though.

This race would be fine if it were looked at as an old-timers game (like B-ball, hockey, baseball have). It's receiving way too much money and attention; money ($2mil of 1st for crying out loud) and attention that would seem to serve the sport better if it were invested into current world class athletes and meets. The problem is that this race isn't being billed as an old-timers reunion, but is trying to right some perceived wrong that occurred in '88. Like the true spirit or destiny of this race was somehow oppressed by the IOC and the IAAF and is finally now being liberated. (sorry about the rant, but this shit really pisses me off).
