  • The "Cream" referred to in the indictments

Hasn't there been at least one short suspension because of the use of a cream? I wonder if related?

    ...and this:

"I'm sending you the latest schedule of Anti-doping list. As you can see at the Stimulant list Modafinil is on it!!! Of course after Catlin's Norbolethone detection this AAS is also included. I guess the party is over."

I thought that modafinil was a medication used for narcolepsy? Why would he be referring to a "party". It's all very confusing...

    Re: The

Maurren Maggi claimed a hair removal cream caused her +...yeah, right. This also seems to show that the modafinil +'s were deliberate dopings. I can't understand why we're not getting more postings on this subject. I can't wait to see what else comes out, the hole seems to be getting deeper and deeper...

A lot of the discussion before were really arguments between the apologists and the not so naive rest of the board. As I said before, the apologists on all the boards have become strangely silent although it would be great to hear from a few and see if they want to continue talking about jet lag, narcolepsy, innocent until proven guilty, it's all just an anti-American conspiracy, pound Dick, it's not a stimulant, nailing someone for a similar substance isn't fair etc etc. Beuhler?

Here's a previous post by Garry Hill.....>"Anybody else done the math? They retested 350 samples from USATF Championships and came up with 4 THG positives. That's 1.2% and track is being crucified"<

MJD, is Garry Hill one of those "apologists" you are talking about?? ))

It sounds like you are referring to "the Cream" as Modafinil, does it now come in a cream? I thought is was either a nasal spray or pill.

The short answer is no. I'm talking about the people who have been defending the other 1.2%.
I could name names and quote them. It's all there(and on other boards). Just do some searches. I'm also not talking about modafinil but some other steroidal cream that there have been 2 suspensions for and I have been told off the board by a couple of people that there is no relationship between the 2.

Short of outright mind-reading, we really can't infer if the "the party is over" reference refers to modafinil, the norbolethone "discovery," or perhaps both. It is becoming more clear though that modafinil was at least known prior to the world championships.

I haven't seen anything definitive yet, but most doctors and pharmacologists I've been in touch with or have seen quoted don't believe that modafinil can act as a masking agent.

Anyway, for those who haven't waded through the 80+ pages of the indictment and affidavit, I posted a rather lengthy synopsis at
              http://www.trackprofile.com/tpr79.html .

If Modafinil indeed is not a masking agent (I still wonder), I dare to predict that it's value as a performance enhancer will be placed with a caffeine/ephedrine class within a few years.
