  • The Logan clinic

Earlier reports had Webb continuing to allow Jacobs to attend but school administrators stepped in:

"A stunned Webb confirmed Saturday that both Jacobs' and Webb's volunteer assistant track coach, Remi Korchemny, 72, who pleaded not guilty Friday to steroid conspiracy charges at U.S. District Court in San Francisco, will not be allowed on Logan's campus."

      From the above site:

"In addition to paying tribute to the late Davenport, the clinic offered an impressive cast of clinicians, among them 400-meter world recordholder Kevin Young; four-time Olympian shot putter Mac Wilkins; former American sprint kings Tommie Smith, John Carlos, Charlie Greene and Ray Norton, and perhaps the two greatest triple jumpers of all-time, Willie Davenport and Ray Kimble."

      News to me.

        Re: The Logan clinic

Give props when they are due. Guys on letsrun started phoning and emailing Logan HS last week in protest about Jacobs' and Remi's participation. I don't know if it had anything to do with the principle banning them or not, but it couldn't have hurt. I thought it was disgraceful that they were going to take part so I emailed a polite note to Mr. Webb. I got quite a sarcastic reply. Now he's saying he may resign because they weren't allowed to participate. Where's the logic here?
