While in NYC yesterday, I saw a TV interview with Vince McMahon of the WWF. He was asked point-blank about the steroid problem in pro wrestling and he basically said (I paraphrase): "I can understand it being a problem in baseball and football, because it gives a competitive advantage and therefore represents cheating. But since wrestling is entertainment, not sport, it's not an issue--there's no advantage and thus no cheating." In other words, of course everyone in this entertainment-profession is doing it. Another great message for middle America...

If you look at some pro wrestlers it's a wonder that they are still above ground, and many have died prematurely from steroid abuse. Who dies at 40 to 45 of heart attacks with bodies that look like adonises. Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect and Davey Boy Smith all died pre-maturely from steroid abuse.

While not questioning the potential dangers of the steroid abuse, I would like to know what exactly these men died of. There are all kinds of urban myths out there, notably Lyle Alzado. Just because he said his brain tumor was a result os steroid use doesn't make it necessarily so. As I recall, it was some sort of sarcoma which has no established cause.

From what I have read they all died of high cholesteral buildup (which is a side effect of juicing) and dieing of heart attacks. As for Alzado I don't see the link, but he acknowledged his steroid abuse so that was a step, I wish other famous atheletes in track and other sports stated why they have bad health problems possibly from steroid abuse.

Come on, going after bodybuilding? That "sport" is based upon using steroids and other muscle-builders. It's a staple resource, as much as their lifting. I know and have talked to bodybuilders and people that work in that circuit, it's no secret. That's why they have a special bodybuilder circuit for tested competitions, and they have the real elite circuit competitions which are untested. Many bodybuilders have openly admitted using steroids since its beginning.

                "Bodybuilders" is one word.

Going after bodybuilders is as absurd as any idiotic action ever undertaken by the US Government. Since the Feds essentially banned steroids in the early 90s, steroid use has gone through the &%*#ing roof as measured by every survey of users or estimate of black market sales. Again, steroid use, while legal (1950s-@1990), was confined to a very small minority. Since Our Wise Leaders deemed steroids=heroin in legal status, steroid use has become wildly popular.

The lesson we learn from history is that we do not learn from history.

The value of steroids has gone through the roof too! Being a HGH dealer is the same as being a coke dealer, on the flip side you will do the same time as a convicted coke dealer too......

Actually, that isn't true. Federal sentencing is highly dependent on what you were distributing and how much of it you had. One example of this, which I believe has been reformed recently, is that there are huge differences in the sentencing schedules for rock cocaine and powder cocaine (rock is sentenced much harder than powder). See the US Sentencing Guidelines for details.

Actually, you buy HGH (or something being labeled as such) in most drug stores and in Costco too. Whether it has the same level of effect as what the athletes are using is in question, but you can get it.

Here is the link to the Costco product:

That's not HGH, it's an HGH enhancer. It's one of those products Pego rightly defines as a scam. 20/20 or 60 minutes did a piece on it recently and said it was a waste of time.
