    Re: More trouble for Marion

OK, I'm worried now. Jones keeps denying much contact with Conte and BALCO but I saw a link to an ad of theirs last week with her photo plus a vitamin/mineral regime he had her on; it was extremely detailed (sorry, don't have time to find the link right now). Heard a radio sports guy about an hour ago say that the usual "trusted sources" are reporting that the whole THG situation will explode in the next 2-3 weeks, he was however, talking about Bonds.

The suits who run the sport must be heaving a sigh of relief at the timing on this one: the gods really smiled on the sport, what with both NBA (including Knicks-Nets) and NHL playoffs in full gear, Yankees-Red Sox consuming the northeast media moguls, Dodgers-Giants big on the left coast and the couch potato crowd glued to their sets for two days of NFL draft. Imagine the play this would have gotten on a slow weekend.

One interesting aspect of this is the fact that T&F and the NFL had the majority of the names on the list yet MLB is criticized for having a weak testing system.

        Testing works right?

I'm not sure just what it is that you are trying to say but isn't another way to look at is that drug use is/was so widespread in MBL that why would you go some back alley Balco route-just get it off the trainer.

Still maintaining that Marion's best strategy this year is cut the 200, focus on LJ and 100. Even with reduced speed she could be formidable in LJ. Her 6.75 indoors would seem to indicate something is going right with her technique since she was probably about a half second slower (over 100) than in Sydney, where she managed only 6.92.

The point is that all the screaming and yelling about the drug problem in baseball, the NFL tests and doesn't catch anyone or next to no one. Is the testing for show?
