    doesnt say much new except it looks like he and his lawyers got the same grilling/meeting MJ did.. i'm guessing that they did a little bit of stat research and found that the times listed on "Marion's calendar" corresponded with Tim's performances..

    I read about that this morning. Being in a mood where I really didn't want to bring it up, I didn't. It's pretty obvious that Tim and Marion are now teetering on the edge.

    I'm starting to think that Marion is going to have to scratch the 200 from her Olympic resume. She's running out of opportunities to qualify.

    Bislett didn't want either of them, and what's to stop the other event organizers from following suit?

    Just because she has 4 weeks to get a qualifying time in the 200 doesn't mean the opportunity will be there. The winds may not be allowable when she runs. And she's not competing in the 200 this weekend, so make that 3 weeks.

      If you are talking about the Trials, Marion should not need a qualifying time at 200 meters. Any one of a number of exemptions may apply 1) similar event qualification (at 100m); 2) past Olympic Trials champions; 3) John Chaplin, as Chair of the "Who Gets In" Committee, could appoint her into the meet.

      I may have these wrong and I welcome corrections.

      If you are talking Olympics, then she must run well enough at the Trials, obviously.

        Isn't he the same guy who told MacDonnel as meet referee at Regionals that Cragg getting into NCAAs in the 5000 was "as good as gold"?

          Anybody who has medaled at OG or WC in preceding 4 years gets a free pass into the Trials. Ergo, Marion is twice, for winning Melbourne and Edmonton. Reigning USATF champs also get in for free. See February T&FN for complete list of those with exemptions, which includes--and wouldn't this be a shock if he suddenly showed up at the start line!--Micihael Johnson.

            Not having my Feb T&FN with me, does this also mean that Jacobs can technically run the 1500 as her THG case has yet to be processed?
