Screw Rogge. Why is it "damn stupid." Inside the brain of Charlie Francis is a wealth of information on technique and the pure science of the sport. Did not the United States readily mine the brains of German scientists for all its own purposes - not the least of which was the construction of the atomic bomb? So Rogge is entitled to his dumb opinion.

More importantly, we took most of Werner von Braun's V-2 rocket team, settled them in the US, and used them to jump start the US space and missile programs. (The Russians did the same thing).

Maybe Marion should have used one of those out of work East German coaches who didn't have the notoriety of Francis.
