How about Doug Padilla? Recall that he got seriously bashed up a few years back.

The last I heard, Waldrop was a professor at the University of North Carolina; Dyce teaches (and possibly coaches) at a JC in Gainesville; Wohlhuter is a financial advisor in Illinois; Wottle is Dean of Admissions at Rhodes College in Tennessee; Meyer works for the University of Michigan (I believe in fund-raising) and Chapa works for Nike in Oregon.

Sandoval and Waldrop are both MD's, aren't they? Waldrop is teaching at the Medical School at UNC, isn't he? His prep for Med school is one reason he cut his running career short from what I remember.

Dave Wottle is the Dean of Admissions at Rhodes University (DIV. III) in Memphis, TN. He has been there since 1986 or 1987. Although he does not run competitively anymore, he plays a mean game of basketball and racquetball. He has children that are/were/excellent h.s. runners.

Sidney Maree is mostly back in South Africa, but wife and kids are in Gainesville, FL.

Doug Padilla was hit by a car in June, 1996 while on a training run in Provo, Utah. His left leg was shattered seriously--almost lost it. But he is a very gutty guy and after years of surgeries and rehab actually "ran" a mile in the BYU Fieldhouse indoor track in 10:50. He works at BYU as director of track and field operations.

As many of you know, I'm sure, you can get information on people just by going to a search engine, such as http://www.google.com and typing names such as "Dave Wottle" in the searching field (use the quotation marks as shown above). If it's a really common name, you might want to add other key words (such as "John Smith" "track and field" "ucla"). Just so you don't think I'm palming off the work on everyone else, I've located homepages for a few former athletes:

                http://www.rhodes.edu/Admissions/RealPe ... Wottle.cfm

                http://research.unc.edu/red/meet.html
                (for Tony Waldrop)

                http://www.sandiegosportsinstitute.com/team/team2.html
                (for Willie Banks)

Jeff Wells is working at a church in the woodlands, TX. as far as I Know. His daughter is running pretty well and ran something like a 5:02 1600m as a junior last year.

                    Re: Where are they now

Anyone knows the whereabouts of Olympian Richard Stebbins '64 Gold Medal Relay Runner 4 x 100 meters (Third Leg)? I have a 1964 SWAC program that features him on the cover. He might enjoy.
Any forwarding address, let me know. Thanks.
