    Bo Jackson, the decathlete

Like Jim Brown, Jackson was also a sometime decathlete, but wasn't serious about it. I believe that he won a state championship in Alabama. Hopefully, some experts here can post a comment.

I would have to go with baseball for Bo. The independent scouting organization who provide unbiased assessments of player talent for the use of all MLB teams gave him the highest rating of any player they had ever evaluated. That same strength and speed that made him so good on the gridiron made him an outfielder for the ages.

In either sport, he would have been dominant. It is tragic that he never got to fulfill that promise.

Bo and Herschel Walker were absolute freaks
of nature if they had stuck to track
they could had formed a great rivalry
in their prime and gave King Carl all
he could handle in the 100m.

Jackson and Walker were never going to be sub10.00 sprinters. They did nothing to indicate that might be in their future.Big and fast....yes! Just not "that" fast!

Impossible for Bo or Herschel to get to the level of a Lewis. They are way to muscular. Bo may have had a future in the decathlon though.......

Because they didn't concentrate on track
fully but if they did they could have
              because of their obvious talent.

Bo set a state record in the decathlon. Obviously he would have had to lose alot of mass to compete at the national or worldclass level.....

There are world class decathletes heavier than 225 lbs.
