Barbara Frederich's HSM :Jav Toss 198-8

Why has Frederich's javelin mark of 198-8 been removed from the record book is it because of new
equiptment being used because it has withstood the test of time 38 yrs to be exact dating back to '67,as far as I know its still the state mark
in New Jersey.

About 20 years ago, throws were getting too long. It all came to a head in 1984 in the mens jav when Uwe Hohn threw it 343 ' !! So the Jav was redesigned so it would tip over quicker thus coming up with shorter throws. Hence "old" jav records and "new" jav records. Ditto for the women.

Asbury Park near the Shore Area in Monmouth County
Thrower and the only reason that I asked this question is because I spotted the national list
and the women's record for the javelin was changed
from 198-8 to 174-7 and I brought up her name seeing as how she held the mark for 38 yrs.
