england-- cram, ovett, coe, strang
Do you mean Strang (1:45.8 guy from mid-80s)? I think he was a Scot (it's a Scottish name). Peter Elliott would be a shoe-in. Coe, Cram and Elliott were once in a team that set a WR:
7:03.89 London (CP) 30 Aug 1982 (Peter Elliott 1:49.14, Garry Cook 1:46.20, Steve Cram 1:44.54, Sebastian Coe 1:44.01)
I recall Elliott apologising to everyone afterwards for his 1:49!
As for Kenya - how about Mike Boit on the 3rd leg?
No place from Rick Wohlhuter or Dave Wottle in the US team?
"I'm going out there to kick some butt. Hopefully not my own" Dean Macey
there are about 20 people you'd choose b4 david strang surely you have to have tom mckean, he didn't have the super fast times but he was european champ and silver and WI champ.
