JJK - end of discussion. She was near the top of the US lists in every event except the 800 (Hep-wise). Even the SP and JT!

If you're gonna base it on national list criteria, Ghada Shouaa was AT the top of the Syrian lists in all heptathlon events. Guess that makes better than JJK :-p

Just for comparison's sake -- read into this only what you wish:

              Total World rankings points:
Lewis: 332 points (in 3 events) with 18 #1 rankings
JJK: 192 points (in 3 events) with 9 #1 rankings

              Total US rankings points:
Lewis: 391 points (in 3 events) with 24 #1 rankings
JJK: 394 points (in 6 events) with 24 #1 rankings

I'd be curious to know if any other athlete has appeared in US rankings in 6 different events.

Oh, and I forgot: Lewis has the most rankings points ever in any one running event (100m) and most in any one event overall (LJ).

I don't know about US, but there is one athlete who appeared in T&FN's world rankings in 6 different events. Any guesses?

Note: There's a difference between the "best athlete to compete in track and field" and the "best track and field athlete." For the former, Jim Thorpe gets my vote.

I'd say Jackie Robinson gives him a push on that one.
