Nice information. Loved the names of his children; Anders and Greta. I guess if his son were born today his name might be Said.

One of my nicest T&F memories is of Karl winning the NCAA SC. I was teaching at OSU when the (assistant) AD made the mistaken decision to cut T&F; only after the deed was done did she realize she was cutting SIX sports and OSU would not qualify for DI and would have to drop out of the Pac10. They scrambled to add a couple sports (soccer?).

The NCAAs would be the last track meet for OSU, and I think that Karl was just about the only one qualified. He was a favorite for the title and my memory is of the Oregon crowd very strongly supporting him and cheering him to victory -- they did not generally cheer strongly for OSU, to say the least.
